Layer: (v) to form or arrange in layers. (n) a thickness, course, or fold laid or lying over or under another.
We are poets with the power to peel back, pick apart, and create. We value and foster art that does the same.
Stitch: (v) to fasten, join, or bring together as if with stitches. (n) the in-and-out movement of a threaded needle
We are a culture of coming together. Poets need each other as much as they need the world that exists outside of their own. We value work, both on and off the page, that creates this action. To facilitate this, we particularly value the meeting of established and up-and-coming poets of diverse threads.
Tangle: (v) to unite or knit together in intricate confusion
We are poets, which is to say we are humans willing to examine the reality of the human experience: intricate confusion. We recognize that life and art is messy, and we’re not necessarily here to put it into order, but to unite despite it.
To break open the world of poetry – in all forms – for everyone willing to listen.
Here, storytelling meets poetry.
Here, poetry meets community.
Here, community meets action.
